“Disseminating Love” Silk Scarf
From 1658 to 1660, by the decree of Hakob Jughayetsi, Catolicos of All Armenians, Matheus Tsarents founded the Holy Etchmiadzin and St. Sargis Publishing Houses in Amsterdam. Soon after, in 1664, the leadership of the publishing house was transferred to Voskan Yerevantsi.
Thanks to his efforts, the first Armenian Bible was published in 1666. The book that was used for the translation was the Biblical copy of Hetum King of Cilicia, which was written in 1295. Voskan Yerevantsi edited this text from the Latin translation of Vulgata. The Voskanian Bible publication is considered one of the best examples of historic Armenian printing.

“Elegy To Manuscripts” Silk Scarf
Armenian illuminated manuscripts date from the Golden Age of Armenian art and literature in the 5th century. With their elaborate designs these manuscripts were not only a means for artistic expression, but exemplified the ever-present importance of religious awareness during that time. To signify the close relationship of this art form with that of the spiritual experience, excerpts from the esteemed “Book of Lamentations” of St. Gregory of Narek are arranged with the lettering taken from Armenian manuscript work and adorned with motifs from these manuscripts. They attempt to breathe new life into the remarkable ancient masterpieces of Armenian art and literature.

“Armenian Azure” Silk Scarf
Armenian blue or Armenian azure is the collective name of the blue pigments used in Armenian. It is often associated with a semi-precious stone, Lapis lazuli. In Armenia, this pigment was used in paintings, particularly in miniatures and dyeing of textile materials. While creating this scarf, rich in enchanting shades of blue, we combined elements of Armenian manuscripts and architecture, incorporating the mysterious essence and spirit of our old traditions.
