Decorative candle holder with the Armenian Cross carved in the tuff stone, light and high resistant. It is a type of rock consisting of consolidated volcanic ash ejected from vents during a volcanic eruption. From the region of Artik it is make and used in Armenia for buildings houses and bridges.
An Armenian cross is a symbol that combines a cross with a floral postament or elements. In the Armenian Christianity it was combined with the Christian cross and this design was often used for high crosses (khachkar) – a free-standing cross made of stone and often richly decorated.
