The “Women of Artsakh for Artsakh” initiative was found in October of 2020, after the Azerbaijani-Turkish terrorist attacks against Armenia and Artsakh starting on September 27, 2020.
After the violent attacks from Azerbaijan and Turkey, a group of young people from Aragatsotn region expressed their desire to support the communities affected by the genocidal attacks to the Artsakh communities. From the beginning we knew we needed to support the communities migrating to Armenia to escape deadly attacks. Jobs needed to be created for the women of Artsakh to firstly calm their nerves and occupy their minds to soothe their restlessness and fears. We discussed some ideas and started to lean towards the idea of sewing eco bags. After finalizing this brilliant idea, we applied to the Armenian Educational Institution, with their support we began our work.
