In the etymology of the name of the flower “forget-me-not” in different languages, the same meaning laid down “Remember”. Moreover, in the Middle Ages, the flower was considered a symbol of God’s presence.
“Forget-Me-Not” is the emblem of the 100th anniversary of the commencement of the Armenian Genocide. The symbol designed in 2015 and widely used in Armenia, the Armenian diaspora and among sympathizers. Most importantly, that it is the main message of the century of the Armenian Genocide. Each of the five forgettable petals symbolizes one of the five parts of the world. Over which the Armenians have scattered, and who have escaped from the Genocide.
Although the flower depicted on the emblem, translated from the Armenian, called “forget-me-not”, it differs from the usual flower in the color, so used purple color, and not the usual blue. Yellow symbolizes sunlight, which gives the power to live and create. The light lilac, which colored by the rays inside the flower, symbolizes participation in the recognition and condemnation of the Armenian Genocide. The prevailing purple lays at the base of Armenian identity. Above all, it is present in the garments of the clergy of the Armenian Apostolic Church.
