We Are Our Mountains ( Մենք Õ¥Õ¶Ö„ Õ´Õ¥Ö€ Õ¬Õ¥Õ¼Õ¶Õ¥Ö€Õ¨) is a large monument north of Stepanakert, the capital city of the Republic of Artsakh. The sculpture, completed in 1967 by Sargis Baghdasaryan, is widely regarded as a symbol of the Armenian heritage . The monument is made from volcanic tufa and depicts an old man andwoman hewn from rock, representing the people of Artsakh. It is also known as “tatik-papik” (Õ¿Õ¡Õ¿Õ«Õ¯-ÕºÕ¡ÕºÕ«Õ¯) in Armenian, which translates as “Grandmother and Grandfather“.
