“MAIR HAYASDAN” || Mother Armenia

As with other paintings of mother and child, Armenian symbolism, animals and fruit are present. There are 8 angels framing the mother and child, 2 laying flat, 4 on each side and 2 sitting on mules at the bottom. Each one is holding a different item, symbolizing Armenian culture and religion.. you will notice pomegranates to symbolize life, fish to symbolize religion, doves to symbolize our craving of peace, hearts to symbolize the love of a home, as well as the musical instruments to symbolize our rich culture.

Similar to the other painting of a mother and child, there are two donkeys facing the home, and bearing the weight of the life in the painting.
