“Trchnagir” Alphabet
The Armenian alphabet was created in 405 AD.
One of the greatest marks of the Armenian identity is the Armenian language. The exact origins of the Armenian language, however, are a little bit obscure. Such is the case with many ancient languages. Serious scholarship starting from the 19th century has placed Armenian among the wider family of Indo-European languages, although it forms its own separate branch within that group. So the language does not have any close relatives today, even Indo-European ones, such as Spanish and Portuguese or Russian and Polish might be considered.Armenian is also unique in its writing system. The Armenians use their own alphabet which was, by tradition, created following the studies and meditations of a monk, Mesrop Mashtots, in the early 5th century AD. Christianity had already been accepted as the national religion for a hundred years in Armenia, but the Bible was not yet available in the native language. The tradition goes that the main motivation to come up with a separate Armenian alphabet was in order to translate the Bible in such a way that would be accessible and suitable for the language and the people.
Mesrop Mashtots – who has since been venerated as a saint, as the patron of teaching and learning for Armenians – accomplished the task in the year 405 AD, thus setting the stage for a rich trove of works of religion and history, science and philosophy, illuminated manuscripts, and published books in the millennium and a half that followed, continuing on today. A major road in the capital of Armenia, Yerevan, is named for Mashtots, and one end of it is the apt location for the Matenadaran, the national repository of manuscripts which also functions as a research institute and museum.

Beauty Oil
Vordan Karmir Beauty Oil 5mL:
In ancient times this magical oil was used by noble Armenian women to preserve their beauty and youth. It is prepared according to ancient Armenian manuscript medical recipes, and contains cochineal oil from Ararat Valley and essential oil of herbs grown in Armenia.
Vordan Karmir Beauty Oil has remarkable medicinal and restorative properties. It eliminates the signs of aging, refreshes and maintains the resilience of the skin and increases moisture by softening it. This Beauty Oil is for facial skin care, particularly around the eyes.
DESCRIPTION: Vordan Karmir Beauty Oil contains natural components of plants grown in alpine areas, on soil formed by volcanic rocks. Such plants are characterized by an increased content of biologically active substances – essential oils, flavonoids and tannins, other phenol compounds, vitamins, carotenoids, as well as vitally important micro-elements in a natural, balanced, easily assimilable form.
Due to the combined effect of these natural ingredients, Vordan Karmir Beauty Oil provides an emollient and regenerative effect, increasing at the same time the skin’s resistance to various irritants, smoothes the surface of the epidermis, maintains the natural moistness of the skin, gives the skin a feeling of comfort, softness and velvety feel, diminishes age pigmentation and refreshes the skin which helps eliminate the visible signs of aging. It is specially formulated for the tender and sensible skin of eyelids and under eyes.
Ingredients of the Oil: The oil is based on exclusively natural oils (apricot kernel, walnut, hempseed), extracted as first cold pressed.
The main active ingredients of the ointment are the extracts of ziziphora and Ararat cochineal (Porphyrophora hamelii), endemic to the Ararat valley. It provides healing effects (anti-inflammatory, bactericidal, normalizing blood supply, restoring micro-circulation, resolving infiltrations in the inflammation area, stimulating regeneration).
Other active ingredients are violet and jasmine oil, oily extract of frankincense and extracts of medicinal herbs (Armenian immortelle, Caucasian linden, catmint of Alagiaz, iris, geranium) growing in mountainous, ecologically clean regions of Armenia, having anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, anti-oxidant, anti-hypoxic, and immunity protective effects.
Usage: The oil must be applied in the evening, before going to bed, as the night is the best time for skin renewal from inside out.
Wipe the skin with Ziziphora Lotion with a cotton swab, then apply a little bit of the Vordan Karmir Beauty Oil with fingertips on the eyelids and the skin under the eyes. The oil is absorbed quickly.$29.70Beauty Oil
