Arthur Petrosyan is a painting artist currently based in Yerevan. He has more than 250 oil and gouache paintings in his portfolio. After receiving his MA degree in Painting and Decorative Applied Art he started working in Matenadarn, Scientific Research Institute of Ancient Manuscripts as a senior restorer of old manuscripts and is specialised in miniature restoration. Being born in Yerevan in 1987, he was raised in Yerevan attending different artistic groups from early childhood. As a student he was fond of Egyptian culture and many of his creations reflect ancient Egypt. His Egyptian series contains more than 30 canvases. Other main directions of this art is landscapes, animal paintings and art in ceramics. He also has 3 reproductions of Rafael, da Vinci and Ayvazovki. Many of his canvases participated in different exhibitions in Armenia, Egypt and Russia. His love of art, colours and paintings is endless and it made him chose painting not only as a hobby, but also as a profession. After settling his studio, he spends most of his evenings painting. He is mostly inspired by natural landscape surrounding him and animals. His painting is about colours and he always tries to play with different shades. He is also a senior manuscript restorer at Matenadaran: Scientific Research Institute of Ancient Manuscripts named after Mesrop Mashtots. He restored manuscripts of 10th, 15th, 16th centuries.
