It was 2004, Canada was just starting to recover from the SARS (Severe acute respiratory syndrome) outbreak. I, as a mother of a newborn and a 2-year-old, was paranoid and overly cautious in making sure that everything my kids came in contact with was clean and sanitized! I am sure I am not the only mother when I say, I went everywhere with hesitation, restaurants, shopping sprees, bathrooms, and it would take me forever to prepare and wipe down surfaces with whatever I could find so my girls didn’t come in contact with bacteria!
This wasn’t much fun for my husband during our family outings, he would have to wait for me and my girls to resurface from our bathroom breaks, as I would spend most of my time covering surfaces with paper so my kids didn’t sit on or touch unprotected areas!
(This is where I should mention that my husband is a Chemist and owns a family business called EnviroServe Chemicals & Cleaners, where we develop and manufacture environmentally safe products. This came in very handy!)
Back to my story. As his patience ran short, he went to work on developing a sanitizer that would meet the highest standards to protect our family:
· It had to kill viruses and bacteria (with 80% Ethyl Alcohol, it meets and exceeds Health Canada, WHO and CDC requirements)
· I had to be able to use the product on my hands and my kids’ hands (no harmful chemicals)
· Had to be spray so it could have multiple uses (door handles, carts, toilet seats)
· Couldn’t dry our hands, had to feel good and be very moisturizing (this is when my years of being an executive for premium skincare lines came in handy)
· Had to leave a nice, pleasant scent behind (he added my favorite scents to the sanitizer)
And our SoPure TM Antiseptic Skin Cleanser was born, exceeding all our expectations!
2020 marks SoPure’s TM 15th Anniversary. This special product has changed the way I function outside of my home, it’s provided me, my family and thousands of individuals peace of mind knowing that we are armed with a product that meets and exceeds all the criteria to ensure we and our families are safe!!!
