On the Artsakh land, in the Astkhashen village of the Askeran region of the Republic, there is a mysterious place where the stars can be seen not only in the sky, but also on the ground, and you can not only see, but even touch them and hold in hand.
More than 150 million years ago, this area had an ocean with a huge variety of marine creatures, which subsequently stuck to the rocks and rolled down. It is believed, that these
“earthly stars” bring good luck. Maybe.
But what is definitely certain is that for many Armenians they are part of a distant
childhood, as for me.
My childhood memories and dreams are inextricably linked with these wonderful starry
stones, and I want to share a small part of them with you.
