The packaging is also unique. Unusual triangular boxes, reminiscent of school love triangles-notes. In such packaging, the scarf is a message to a loved one. The cardboard of the packaging is palpably reminiscent of an eggshell. This is a tribute to the unique Svan seagull. Another symbol of the unique reality of Armenia.
Based on original painting “Going Up” by the famous Armenian artist and restorer Lusine Tumanyan.
“The idea for this work was born from a sketch I made on the way to Noravank. I wanted to find a collective image of an Armenian woman who resembles her homeland. Here I see that the women are stern, like rocks; bright, like the color of these rocks; their hearts are warm, like stones warmed by the sun. The road they are walking along stretches eight kilometers up a serpentine from the nearest village in the lowlands. I myself have not walked this entire path, but I can imagine what efforts were required to get to the monastery before the advent of cars. The purpose of the girls’ journey is left to the understanding of the viewers. At their discretion: are they going to a regular church service, to a holiday, or are they seeking salvation within the walls of the monastery?”
