N01 Erkata’gir Alphabet (Երկաթագիր Այբուբեն). This is the oldest Armenian known letter type. It takes its name from Erkat (Երկաթ) meaning “iron” in Armenian, perhaps because it is the earliest known script chiseled onto the stone with the help of iron tools.
