After completing the construction of the Monastery, the stonemason, addressing the workers inside, demanded two pieces. Receiving the shavings, the master kissed them and said: “Give the Holy Spirit!” The word grew in his mouth and on his shoulders. The master flew away in an unknown direction. Workers could not remove the wooden shards of the Monastery without a master. After some time, hearing that he was in Constantinople, the inhabitants living nearby the Monastery sent a man to the master, asking him to remove the shards of the Monastery. The master did not return and he method of removal. These words of the master came to name (Holy Spirit) the Monastery Tatev.
Lenk-Temur wanted to completely destroy the Tatev Monastery and uproot his mobile Wand-pillar. Hence he ordered his bandits to tie ten pairs of buffaloes, tie the pole with a chain and pull it. As soon as the buffaloes started pulling, the chain was cut and they fell into the gorge. Seeing all this, Lenk-Temur left Tatev.
