  • “Armenian Ceramics” Scarf

Jerusalem’s ancient Armenian community experienced a major increase in numbers as survivors of the Armenian genocide perpetrated by the government of the Ottoman Empire beginning in 1915 found refuge in Jerusalem’s Armenian Quarter. The industry is believed to have been started by refugees from Kütahya, a city in western Anatolia noted for its Iznik pottery. The tiles decorate many of the city’s most notable buildings, including the Rockefeller Museum, American Colony Hotel, and the House of the President of Israel.
David Ohannessian (1884–1953), who had established a pottery in Kütahya in 1907, is credited with establishing the Armenian ceramic craft industry in Jerusalem. In 1911 Ohannessian was commissioned with installing Kütahya tile in the Yorkshire home of Mark Sykes. In 1919 Ohannessian and his family fled the Armenian genocide, finding temporary refuge in Aleppo; they moved to Jerusalem when Sykes suggested that they might be able to replicate the broken and missing tiles on the Dome of the Rock, a building then in a decayed and neglected condition. Although the commission for the Dome of the Rock did not come through, the Ohannession pottery in Jerusalem succeeded, as did the Karakashian the painters and Balian the potters that Ohannessian brought with him from Kuttahya to help him with the project in 1919. After about 60 years new Armenian artists started to have their own studios.
In 2019 the Israel Museum mounted a special exhibition of Jerusalem pottery in its Rockefeller Museum branch location.

Lemongrass is an herb that is native to Sri Lanka and South India but GGA is growing it in Armenia!!!! According to the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, smelling lemongrass may help people with anxiety. According to an article in the Journal of Advanced Pharmaceutical Technology & Research, consuming lemongrass tea appears to lower cholesterol. Lemongrass tea inhibits bacterial growth. It helps fight bacteria that can cause cavities in the mouth, including S. sanguinis. Lemongrass is able to block pain. This means that drinking lemongrass tea helps alleviate pain! Drinking lemongrass tea infusions daily for 30 days can increase hemoglobin concentration and red blood cell count in the body. Drinking lemongrass tea can have diuretic effects, which means that it stimulates the kidneys to release more urine than usual. So it gets rid of bloating which is one of the major annoying symptoms of PMS(premenstrual symptoms).
So here’s how to drink it daily: Take a teaspoon of GGA Lemongrass shoots and pour 1 cup of boiling water. Cover and let steep for 15 minutes so that all its essential oils and lemony aroma goes wild and your whole room starts to smell like lemony fresh with an oriental twist! ENJOY!

  • Magnesium Chloride Flakes

1-reduces pain: relief for localized back pain, tendonitis, muscle soreness, leg cramps, and carpal tunnel syndrome. Just spray it where you need it most.
2-Strengthens oral health and bones: by increasing calcium absorption and also reducing plaque buildup
3-Repairs muscles: used by athletes to help with overworked muscles and also for the elderly to help in muscle repair.
4-Clears away skin problems like rosacea, acne, psoriasis, and eczema
    5- Used as a deodorant
6-Reduces stress and lowers blood pressure and regulates diabetes, helps with PMS symptoms and migraines.
Start by taking 1 teaspoon in the evenings before you sleep. The next day if you experience loose stool, that’s the way your body tells you that you have taken the right dose of magnesium chloride. So just reduce the amount by 1/4 teaspoon and continue that amount every night until your stool gets loose again. When it does reduce it by 1/4 teaspoon. But on the other hand, when you take it the first day and the next day you don’t experience any changes in your stool, then add another teaspoon(so you would be taking 2 teaspoons). You continue adding every night until there is loose stool and that is when you know that is the right amount for your body!
