Connecting Armenians of the World.
Lizzy Vartanian is a British-Armenian embroidery artist from London who moved to Yerevan in the summer of 2024. Much of her work is inspired by roots in Lebanon, Armenia and Syria, transforming twentieth-century family photographs into embroidered works of art. She has been fortunate to spend time with female practitioners in Jordan, learning about traditional stitches from the Levant. She has given workshops at institutions including Victoria & Albert Museum, Leighton House, The Other Art Fair and Darat Al Funun. Her work has been exhibited at the Royal Academy of Art in London and at Charents House Museum and Kitchen Lab in Yerevan.
