As they say, nothing happens in life by chance.
Shushan and Ara had just gotten married, Ara had started making shoes as a second job, and Shushan was making bags, hats and handing them to Armenian souvenir shops.
One day, when they were working together in a workshop, the idea was born to try making shoes with traditional Armenian ornaments. They implemented that idea very quickly, founding the TREKH brand, but everything was not that easy.
They tried to sell their products in stores, but no one accepted them, saying that the idea was not so attractive, it would be difficult to capture the market.
Shushan and Ara, a little discouraged, decided to sell on their own. The first attempt was at the Vernissage in 2009. At the beginning it was quite difficult, but over the years they created models of shoes that did not exist in Armenia, giving stylish and creative solutions to Armenian ornaments.
This is how they established their own shop in the heart of Yerevan. Now the store has about 150 types of products: women, men’s, children’s shoes, costumes, bags and trekhs with Armenian ornaments.
The couple went through many hardships and disappointments, but they were able to overcome them together. As Shushan mentions, they love their homeland very much. Armenia has a history and culture of thousands years, and everyone must care about it so that we do not lose our identity.
